Roy Rasmussen "Encounter" Beaten Aluminium Sculture

£0.00
sold out

Late 1950’s beaten aluminium marine sculpture by Roy Rasmussen.
Widely exhibited and compared with British based sculptor, Sir Jacob Epstein, Roy gained recognition for his search for idealistic perfection. Roy was among the first to pioneer the medium of aluminium in art. He has taken beaten and welded metal further than any artist over the past century, and no-one has explored the possibilities of aluminium as sculptural material more.
The aluminium beautifully captures the reflective fluidity of the sea with the two marine beasts circling in their unexpected encounter.
A pared back form, a slight reflection, it sits perfectly in any mid century interior.

43cm x 37cm high Mounted on a wooden plinth.

Circa 1958 Original vintage unrestored condition.
